Running a small business can be very exciting and empowering. It can also be a bit overwhelming and stressful at times. You may not know that there are some pretty amazing resources available to you as a small business owner that can be really helpful during those times when you don’t feel very much like a superhero. Today I have some super useful (and free!) resources to share with you.

The Small Business Association (SBA)

This entity has been around for a long time, and its offerings are pretty extensive. For example, if you are just getting started, you can find a section of their website devoted to creating a business plan if you are not sure how to go about creating your plan. This free resource walks you through the entire process to ensure that you know what to include and how to make your plan fit your business projections.

State Small Business Development Center

Every state has one of these, and they are valuable and important free resources for small business owners and entrepreneurs. Here you can find a business startup checklist and many other tools. Special events and business advisor access are available, as well.

Entrepreneur.com

This website is chock-full of business plan guidelines, checklists, and templates, with links included for forms and templates and financial information. You can access many articles about all different aspects of business, watch informational videos, or chat online with a business expert. Signing up for their newsletter will keep you abreast of everything they have available for you.

SCORE

SCORE has over 300 locations dedicated to helping small businesses succeed. You can connect with a mentor, either in person or via video conferencing, attend a webinar on their website, or access their virtual library to find templates, infographics, e-guides, blogs, and videos. You may even want to become a mentor yourself after your business is established!
