How To Show Your Clients That You Care

The personal touch is always the best way to let people know you care, and your clients are no different. We know you’re thankful for the folks who do business with you, but do you let them know? Customer appreciation plays a big role in client retention, with 60% of customers changing brands because they felt the company was indifferent to them.

The solution to this is to show a little love! This can seem like yet one more task to add to that already-heavy plate you’re carrying as a business owner, but I have some ideas for you that might help here. Ready?

Reward

Establish a loyalty program with tiered rewards. This is a simple yet effective way to show your clients that you care about their patronage.  Every time they buy from you they can earn points which they can then use for other products and services.

Honor

You can make a donation in honor of the most loyal customer. This event can be posted on social media or by photos hung in your place of business – whatever you decide, as long as the customer is honored in some way. You may want to find out what their favorite cause or charity may be and send the donation there.

Upgrade

Treat your customers to an upgrade, free of charge. If they buy a service from you, give them an elevation, or perhaps a deeper discount, just to say thanks and show your appreciation.

Event

You can host a barbecue or outdoor picnic – choose an area park or perhaps your own premises. Teaming up with area or sister businesses can turn it into a “Thing”, and the social media posts will bring you publicity. It will give you the time and opportunity to get to know your clients on a more personal level, too, and that shows you care.

Swag

Everyone loves a little swag. Throwing a little something extra into their bag, or maybe even an online swag giveaway can be a great way to bring happiness to your clientele.

Note

In today’s world, a handwritten note is even more special than it used to be. Let your customers know that they are special to you by sending them a note for their birthday, or perhaps an anniversary or an achievement. It might also be appropriate after a sale or a contract renegotiation, or maybe for that first-time customer.

We all need to know that someone cares about us and that we’re appreciated. Your clients let you know they appreciate you every time they buy what you’re selling, and you can return the favor by doing something special for them. By impacting their lives in a positive way, your business will reap the rewards.
